Chamogarh

Chamogarh is a village 15 km from Gilgit city, in Gilgit-Baltistan. The word Chammoughar is derived from a Chammou mean fish in min local language. Danyor Alam bridge road crosses Chamogarh, it also connects it to Jalalabad, Danyor, Oshkhindass and Alam bridge. In the west, it is connected to the village of Harating, Jalalabad, Gilgit City, Hunza and Khunjerab top to China. Chamogarh has an intervening width of mountainous terrain.

Pathans

Pashtuns have been very active in the social and political affairs of the village, with Sayed Alam being the first Lumbardar (Chief of The Village). Saeed Ahmad remained Home Secretary of Gilgit-Baltistan and his brother, Dr Ghulam Ahmad, is a retired army major. The two brothers, Home Secretary Sibtain Ahmad and Deputy Commissioner Usman Ahmad are sons of Dr Ghulam. Others include teacher Nazir Ahmad, Ifhtakar Ahmad, Ghayour Ahmad, Shaheed Engineer Iqbal Ahmad, Dildar Ahmad (Government Contractor), Suhail Ahmad, son of Saeed Ahmad Khan, and civil judge Sajjad Ahmad
