What is "carnia"

Carnia ( or Cjargna/Cjargno in local variants, , ) is a historical-geographic region in the northeastern Italian area of Friuli. Its 28 municipalities all belong to the Province of Udine, which itself is part of the autonomous Friuli-Venezia Giulia region.

Carnia is a genus of fungi in the division Ascomycota. The relationship of this taxon to other taxa within the class is unknown ( incertae sedis), and it has not yet been placed with certainty into any class, order, or family. A monotypic genus, Carnia contains the single species Carnia tabebuiae, described as new to science in 1960.
