Brandendamm

Brandendamm was a major crossing of the Oder in old Brandenburg. Upon it grew the modern towns of Frankfurt (Oder), in Germany, and Slubice, in Poland.

The name is derived from "Branden", the name of the Wendish inhabitants of what is now the German Bundesländer of Brandenburg and Saxony-Anhalt, and "damm", the word for a causeway across lakes and swamp in the sandy heathlands of Prussia.
