Bhitarwar is a town and a nagar parishad in Gwalior district in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. The nearest Railway station is Dabra, and the nearest airport is Gwalior. The distance from Gwalior is 72 km. The town is surrounded by a river called Parvati.

Bhitarwar Vidhan Sabha constituency is one of the 230 Vidhan Sabha (Legislative Assembly) constituencies of Madhya Pradesh state in central India. This constituency came into existence in 2008, following the delimitation of the assembly constituencies. This constituency covers parts of the erstwhile Gird and Dabra constituencies.
