Anjali ( Devanagari : अञ्जली; अंजली) is a Sanskrit word that means " divine offering". It is not only a given name, but also the name given to the greeting between Hindus, Buddhists and other religions on the Indian Continent: hands folded together.

Anjali (film)

Anjali is a 1990 Tamil language feature film directed by Mani Ratnam. It stars Raghuvaran, Revathi, Master Tarun, Baby Shruti Vijaykumar and Baby Shamili in the leading roles. The background score and soundtrack was composed by Ilaiyaraaja. Anjali was the composer's 500th film. The film deals with the story of a dying mentally disabled child, and the emotional trauma experienced by her family. The film was dubbed into Hindi and Telugu and released under the same name. Anjali was critically acclaimed, winning three National Film Awards. It was chosen as India's official entry to the Oscars in 1991, but was not nominated. The movie is loosely inspired by the 1979 televised docudrama Son-Rise: A Miracle of Love.

Anjali (film actress)

Anjali is an award-winning Indian film actress and model, who predominantly appears in Tamil, Telugu and a few Kannada films. Following a stint in modelling, she was cast in starring roles in two Telugu productions; her début film was the Telugu film Photo, which released in 2006, before bagging a role and gaining attention in the film Kattradhu Thamizh (2007), for which she received the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debutante. In 2010 and 2011, she won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress - Tamil, for her performances in Angaadi Theru and Engaeyum Eppothum respectively, subsequently becoming recognised as one of the "finest young actors" in Tamil cinema, and noted for mostly playing "performance-oriented roles". Her Telugu re-entry occurred through Journey (Telugu dubbing of Engaeyum Eppothum), which established her in Tollywood. Followed by Journey, she appeared in a string of successful films like Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu, Balupu, Masala, Geethanjali and Dictator, which made her one of the leading actresses in Telugu. In 2015, she appeared in the successful Kannada film Rana Vikrama along with actor Puneeth Rajkumar, breaking her seven-year hiatus in Sandalwood after Honganasu, which released in 2008.

Anjali is a 1977 Indian Malayalam film, directed by IV Sasi and produced by A Raghunath. The film stars Prem Nazir, Sharada, MG Soman and Adoor Bhasi in lead roles. The film had musical score by G. Devarajan.

Anjali is an Tamil soap opera that was aired on Sun TV. The show premiered on 27 November 2006. It aired Monday through Friday at 6:00PM IST. The show starring by Mallika, Prajin, Devadarshini, Poovilangu Mohan, Subhalekha Sudhakar and Rindhiya.

The show is produced by Aniksha Productions Anitha Kumaran and director by C.J.Bhaskar. The title track was composed by Kiran and Lyrics by Vairamuthu. The show last aired on 25 April 2008 and ended with 358 episodes. It was also aired in Sri Lanka Tamil Channel on Shakthi TV.
