Anau

Anau (also spelled Annau, , Әнев, أنِو /æˈneβ/, Turkmenistan, capital of Ahal Province, is a city 8 km southeast of Ashgabat which is connected via the M37 highway. Traces of habitation in the area date back to the 4th millennia BC, with fine painted potteries. The name Anau is from Persian Âbe nav (آب نو) meaning "New Water".1

In 2003, the city built a new stadium and in 2005 a major Museum Ak bugday.
