Metropolitan Ananias ( Georgian: მიტროპოლიტი ანანია, born Tengiz Japaridze, Georgian: თენგიზ ანატოლის ძე ჯაფარიძე, 1949 August 20, Tkibuli) is a Hierarch of the Georgian Orthodox Church, the Metropolitan of Manglisi and Tetri-Tskaro, a permanent member of the Holy Synod of Georgian Orthodox Church since 1981. He is the Chairman of Synod Commission on Canonization of Saints, the Chairman of Scientific-Research Commission on Determination of True History. At the present time he is the eldest Metropolitan of Georgian Orthodox Church after the Patriarch (by consecration on 15.03.1981). The Name’s Day is 14 October ( Apostle Ananias of the Seventy).
