What is "amposta"

Amposta is the capital of the comarca of Montsià, in the province of Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain, one hundred km south of Barcelona on the Mediterranean Coast. It is located at 8 metres above sea level, by the Ebre river, not far from its end. Its population was 18,841 in 2005.

Amposta is a ward (barrio) of Madrid belonging to the district of San Blas-Canillejas.
