Alimukku is a village situated on Punalur- Muvattupuzha state Highway (SH-08) in Kollam district, about 5 kilometres north-west of Punalur and 8 kilometres from Pathanapuram. The head office of Piravanthoor Panchayat is located here. Other nearby places are Punnala(4 kilometres) and Karavoor (5 kilometres) . There are many interesting places nearby. The famous Achenkovil sastha temple is 37 kilometres from here on Alimukku-kottakkayam-mullumala-achenkovil route. Ayiravalli shiva temple is in alimukkue one of the rarest shiva temple having nadaraja vigraha in kerala. South Indian bank having one branch in alimukku and an ATM. Two textiles shope is there.Pathanamthitta is 30 km away from here.In the year 2011 a govt cooperative college has started nearby alimukku. State Farming Corporation of Kerala(SFCK) Ltd is located nearby. Alimukku- Karavoor road is bypass road for "sabarimala" travelers.
