Agnisakshi (1999 film)

Agnisakshi (With Fire As Witness) ( Malayalam: മലയാളം) is a 1999 Malayalam film directed by Shyamaprasad based on the acclaimed novel of the same name by Lalithambika Antharjanam. The film premiered at the Soorya Festival on 14 September 1998. It stars Rajit Kapur, Shobana, Srividya, Praveena, Madhupal and Madambu Kunhukuttan. Agnisakshi received numerous accolades, which led to many controversies as the film glorifies spiritualism and Hindutva.

Agnisakshi (novel)

Agnisakshi (meaning, With Fire As Witness) is a Malayalam novel written by Lalithambika Antharjanam. Originally serialised in Mathrubhumi Illustrated Weekly, it was published as a book by Current Books in 1976. It tells the story of a Nambudiri woman, who is drawn into the struggle for social and political emancipation but cannot easily shake off the chains of tradition that bind her. The novel was concerned with implied criticism of aspects of social structure and behaviour.

Agnisakshi was Lalithambika Antarjanam's only novel. She was famous for her short stories and poems. She wrote this novel in her old age. It has become something of a classic in Malayalam fiction. It received the Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award and Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award.

Agnisakshi (Kannada serial)

Agnisakshi is an Indian Kannada language television show that premiered on Colors Kannada. The show received highest TRPs in the history of Kannada television.

Agnisakshi is related to Lakshmi Baramma (with Chinnu being Siddarth's initial romantic interest and Chinnu appearing in the first few episodes of the Agnisakshi serial and the entire Lakshmi Baramma cast attending Sannidhi & Siddharth's wedding), and Ashwini Nakshatra serial(Sannidhi playing JK's sister).
