Acourtia

Acourtia is a genus of flowering plants in the daisy family, Asteraceae described as a genus in 1830.

Plants in this genus are known generally as desert-peonies and are native to the Southwestern United States ( California to Texas) and Mesoamerica. These flowers usually have only disc florets in their flower heads, but some of the disc florets are long and look like ray florets. They are diverse in appearance. The flowers are usually white, pink, or purple.
